Oh...THAT hurricane!! "Ike" is headed our way, and we're hunkered down here at home. Katy is pretty far from the storm surge waters, but that doesn't mean that we won't get a buttload of wind and rain tonight when Ike makes landfall. We're glad that it's just a category 2, rather than something with a bit more "stank" on it.
Everything's closed up, more or less, but we've already made our preparations. We've got tons of DVD's (and a portable DVD player with a battery, thank you very much), books, flashlights, batteries, food, bottled water, and yes, Mom, we will be filling up the bathtubs so that we can continue to flush the toilets if the water service goes out.

To be honest, I'd prefer that this be an entirely UNexciting experience. I don't care for that kind of excitement. Here's hoping that everyone makes it through Ike safe and sound. I've got a lot of time on my hands just now, so don't be alarmed if I suddenly start writing some really ridiculous posts.
